I ran a 5k yesterday. It went really well. I decided going into it that I would try to break 24 minutes. I’ve been training pretty diligently since March 2008 and it paid off. I ran the “Run for the Brass” 5k in 22:17! I couldn’t believe it when I crossed the finish line. This was the first 5k race I’ve run since high school (6 years ago). I was first in my age group and 34 out of 140 something– running with men and women. I’m very proud of myself and now I’m thinking about running even more.. but for the sake of my knees I think I’ll take a little break.

Way to go, Betty! I would have passed out after the first mile. You always were good at cross country. If I remember right, Bekah talked you into joining the team with her, then she dropped out and you stayed in. I’m glad to see you are staying active, even though you are so busy with everything else. Love you!
