Getting Ready to Run

Summer is around the corner and so are all those 5ks and more. With running comes knee problems too.

I’ve been cross training to prevent and to slow down some wear and tear on my knees but I’m not confident that my ways are truly protecting my knees. I’m pretty sure I’ve got Illiotibial Band Syndrome and  sciatica. Stretching better and reducing running speed has helped tremendously but I’m still not sure it’s enough. I want to keep running but I don’t want to get hurt. No amount of running is worth a life time of pain or injury.

So I plan to add to my blog this summer how I work these problems out. I foresee the swimming pool being my best option to get in training without injury. Only this summer will tell.
